XML Editor

The XML Editor is the primary editor. It displays when you open a content file from the Content Explorer, and provides access to the underlying XML structure of documents in a comfortable visual authoring environment. This editor is used to enter, modify, and format the content for topics that users see in the output. Not only is this editor used for topics, but it is also used for working with snippets. Although this editor lets you produce XML files, you do not need to know anything about XML to use it.

In the Analyzer interface, you can open a file in the XML Editor. For example, if you are working on fixing broken links, you can double-click a row in the Broken Links window pane and the related topic opens in the XML Editor. You can then address the issue in the editor, rather than having to open the file in the Flare project.
