About Shortcuts

Capture lets you work more quickly and efficiently by making use of keyboard shortcuts in a variety of ways.

  • Keyboard Shortcuts This is a complete list of all of the shortcuts available in Capture. Multiple tables are provided—some for viewing the shortcuts according to tasks and the others for viewing them according to shortcut keys. See Keyboard Shortcuts.
  • Changing Hot Keys You can configure shortcuts to use different key combinations than the default ones. See Changing Hot Keys.
  • Disabling Hot Keys Normally, Capture's hot keys override identical ones from other open applications. However, you can disable the hot keys in Capture so that you can use any identical hot key in another application. See Disabling Hot Keys.
  • ALT Key Shortcuts As an alternative to using the standard shortcut key combinations for different features in Capture, you can use ALT key shortcuts. These are shortcuts that become visible as popups over specific areas of the interface (in ribbon mode) or underlined text (in toolstrip mode) when you press the ALT key. You can then select the key shown to access the relevant feature. See ALT Key Shortcuts.
