Using Smart Quotes

By default, Contributor adds straight quotation marks when you type them in the XML Editor. However, you can select an option to automatically use single and double curly smart quotes instead when you work in the editor. This option is disabled by default. If you are using a language that does not use straight quotation marks, Contributor replaces quotes based on your current language. Additionally, if you are using a different language in a specific topic or tag, Contributor will use the correct smart quote for that language setting.

How to Use Smart Quotes

1. Select File > Options.

2. Select the XML Editor tab.
3. Click Replace straight quotes with smart quotes.
4. Click OK.
