Specifying Frame Padding

If you want there to be a certain amount of space between the edge of a frame and the content within it, you can set the padding. 

How to Specify the Padding for a Frame

  1. Open the page containing the frame.
  2. Double-click the frame. The Frame Properties dialog opens.
  1. Select the Frame tab.
  2. Use the Padding section to enter settings.
    • Left Enter the amount of space that you want to be added between the left edge of the frame and any text or content within it. You can also use the up and down arrows. To select a unit of measurement, click the down arrow in the units of measurement field and select one of the options. See Units of Measurement.
    • Right Enter the amount of space that you want to be added between the right edge of the frame and any text or content within it. You can also use the up and down arrows. To select a unit of measurement, click the down arrow in the units of measurement field and select one of the options. See Units of Measurement.
    • Top Enter the amount of space that you want to be added between the top edge of the frame and any text or content within it. You can also use the up and down arrows. To select a unit of measurement, click the down arrow in the units of measurement field and select one of the options. See Units of Measurement.
    • Bottom Enter the amount of space that you want to be added between the bottom edge of the frame and any text or content within it. You can also use the up and down arrows. To select a unit of measurement, click the down arrow in the units of measurement field and select one of the options. See Units of Measurement.
  3. Click OK.
  4. Click Save the active file. to save your work.
