Modifying Context IDs in Modular Projects

To avoid duplicate context IDs when using automatically generated context IDs, you can customize the context ID numbers in each child project. This will guarantee that your context-sensitive Help will work properly for all of the child projects within your modular hub project.

  1. Open a child project.
  2. Select the Project ribbon.
  3. Click the Project Settings button. The Project Settings dialog opens.
  4. In the Context IDs section, enter a number in the ID Offset field. For example, you could make this 1000; then 1000 will be added to each automatic ID generated.
  5. Build the target, then close the project.
  6. Open another child project.
  7. Open the Project Settings dialog, and enter a different number in the ID Offset field (e.g., 2000).
  8. Build the target, and close the project.
  9. Repeat these steps for all child projects.
