Viewing Active Users

When users submit comments, they may be required to register, providing information such as user name, email address, and more. However, you can set up a Feedback file so that anonymous users will be accepted. In that case, users will not need to register; instead, they simply enter any user name when submitting a comment.

You can view a list of active users for your online output. In other words, the list shows the users who have registered and submitted at least one comment.

How to view active users

  1. Open the Feedback file.

  2. Select View>Active Users.

The active users are listed in the bottom portion of the window pane. The user name and email is always required, so you will always see that information. However, there is additional information (e.g., name, zip code, gender) that you can also include as part of the registration process. This includes the ability to determine which fields are required for your end users and which fields are optional. You can do all of this customization within the skin in the Flare project. For more information see the Flare online Help.

  3. (Optional) You can use the date filter to select a specific date range so that statistics are shown only for that time frame. If you want to specify a date range, use the following steps.
    1. In the local toolbar, click .
    2. In the Date Filter dialog, click Enable filter.
    3. Select either Range or Preset.
    4. Click in the appropriate fields to select a timeframe. If you use the "Range" option, you can click on the down arrows to choose specific months and dates. You can also click inside the field and type a different time.
    5. Click OK.

Note: You may need to refresh the window pane to make sure you see the latest results. To do this, simply press F5 on your keyboard or click in the local toolbar.

Note: You can also export Feedback data to a CSV or TXT file. See Exporting Feedback Data to Microsoft Excel (Using a CSV File) or Exporting Feedback Data to a Tab-Delimited Text File.
