Publishing to ServiceNow®

After everything is set up and you have created a destination file, you can associate that file with a Clean XHTML target. Then you can build and publish the output.

How to Publish to ServiceNow®

  1. Open your Clean XHTML target.
  2. On the General tab of the Target Editor, select your TOC, and choose Convert stylesheet styles to inline styles.
  3. Select the Publishing tab.
  4. Next to your ServiceNow® destination, select the Publish check box.
  5. Click the Advanced tab. Select the Content to include drop-down. Then select one of the options to limit the files included in the output. You can include files linked directly or indirectly from the target, or you can include only files linked directly from the TOC. See Including Specifically Linked Content.
  6. Click Save the active file. to save your work.
  7. In the local toolbar, click Build.
  8. After the target is finished generating, click Publish in the local toolbar.

Note Multimedia files, such as MP4 videos, are not published to ServiceNow®. However, links to YouTube and Vimeo videos will work.

Note If you remove topics from a table of contents and republish that project to ServiceNow®, those corresponding articles are removed from the category. This might result in an empty category, which you would need to remove via ServiceNow®.

Note During the build and publish processes, you may see messages in the Compile Status Column of the Builds window pane about category and section translations. These messages are a function of the ServiceNow® publishing process, and are displayed even if there are no translated files. These messages are also displayed in the build log when the publish is completed.
