Tasks

Important Pulse is deprecated in Flare, which means that it is slated to be removed in a future version.

The Tasks app gives you the ability to create, view, and manage task activity. You can open the Tasks app from the Community tab of the Flare output or Pulse dashboard.

How to Open the Tasks App

  1. Log in to the Flare content or Pulse dashboard using an account that is a member of the Administrators or Employees group.
  2. Choose the appropriate option:

    • If you are logged into the Flare output, click the Community tab. The Your Apps menu appears in the left navigation pane.

    • If you are logged into the Pulse dashboard, navigate to the desired group, tag, topic, or user feed. The Your Apps menu is on the left side of the page.

  3. In the Your Apps menu (or left navigation pane), click Tasks.

    This reveals a list of all the tasks for the selected group, tag, topic, or user feed.

    Note You can select which applications display in the Your Apps menu. See Customizing the Your Apps Menu.

How to Manage Your Tasks

If you are a member of the Administrators or Employees group and a user assigns you a task in Pulse, you have the option to accept or decline the task. You can also update the task.

  1. Navigate to the desired group, tag, topic, or user feed.
  2. In the Your Apps menu (or left navigation pane), click Tasks.
  3. In the Tasks page, any tasks that have been assigned to you appear in the list. You have these options:

    In the Tasks page, click the ACCEPT? button. Then select Decline Task from the context menu.

    A task declined message appears and the status of the button label changes to declined.

    In the Tasks page, click the ACCEPT? button. Then select Accept Task from the context menu.

    In the Tasks page, click the ACCEPT? button. The select Mark Complete. This immediately places the task to the completed status.

    1. In the Tasks page, click a task to view the details:

      The tasks pane opens.

    2. In the task pane, make any desired changes.

    3. Click Save.

    how to filter tasks

    By default, the Tasks page shows a list of all the tasks that have been assigned to you.

    You can filter the list display by clicking and selecting from the options detailed below.

    how to filter tasks by people

    • Assigned to Anyone Shows tasks assigned to you and tasks assigned to others by you.
    • Assigned to Me Shows tasks assigned to you
    • Assigned by Me Shows tasks that you assigned to other users.

    • Assigned to My Direct Reports Shows tasks assigned to your Direct Reports folder. Direct Reports is an option you can select in the Notifications tab of the Settings page that deliver daily reports to your email. See Editing Your Profile.

    In the Your Apps menu, click Tasks. Then click and select one of these options from the drop-down menu:

    • Status Shows tasks assigned by current status.
    • Upcoming Shows tasks with upcoming due dates.
