    • Select the content with the formatting that you want to remove so that the content is highlighted. If you want to remove inline formatting throughout the content file (e.g., topic, snippet), you can press CTRL+A to select everything.
  3. Select Home > . The inline formatting is removed.
  4. Click Save the active file. to save your work.

Note By clicking , you remove all inline formatting, including any span classes that have been applied to whatever text you have selected to be unformatted.

Note This feature also works for local formatting inside tables. However, only the cells (e.g., background color) and their content (e.g., bold text) are affected. Any inline formatting within table tags (e.g., <table>, <tr>, <col>) is not affected.

Removing Local Formatting Using Find and Replace

If you have many files containing local formatting and you want to remove it, the best solution is to select Home > Find and Replace, select the Find Elements tab, and use the options in that window pane.

In the Find and Replace/Action fields, select Inline Formatting and Remove Inline Formatting, respectively. Then complete the value fields as necessary.

For more details on this feature, see Finding and Replacing Elements.
