Microsoft SQL is required in order to take advantage certain features in Flare Desktop. However, SQLite is automatically installed when you install Flare Desktop, so there isn't anything you need to do. For Pulse or Feedback Server integration, you need to install full versions of SQL Server. See MadCap Pulse and MadCap Feedback.
