Specifying Page Size and Orientation

You can select a pre-set size for a page or create a custom size. You can also determine the orientation (portrait or landscape). For more information see Page Layouts and Editing Pages.

How to Specify the Size and Orientation for a Page

  1. Open a page in a layout.
  2. Double-click on the page (without double-clicking on a frame).
  1. Select the General tab.
  2. (Optional) The current page in the layout is selected at the top in the Page field. You can use this field to select any of the other pages in the layout and your changes will be applied to that page. If you plan to make the same changes to all of the pages in the layout, select <all> from this drop-down. That way, you only need to specify your settings one time for all of the pages.
  3. Use the Page Size section to enter settings.
    • Page Size Select a standard size for the page (e.g., Letter, Legal) or select (custom) to specify a non-standard width and height.
    • Custom Width If you selected "(custom)" from the Page Size field, enter a specific width for the page. First you need to select Length in the top drop-down list. You can then enter a value in the lower-left area and choose from several different units of measurement (points, pixels, centimeters, etc.) in the lower-right area. See Units of Measurement.
    • Custom Height If you selected "(custom)" from the Page Size field, enter a specific height for the page. First you need to select Length in the top drop-down list. You can then enter a value in the lower-left area and choose from several different units of measurement (points, pixels, centimeters, etc.) in the lower-right area. See Units of Measurement.
    • Orientation Select the orientation for the page. You can either select Portrait (if you want the pages to be taller than they are wide), or you can select Landscape (if you want the pages to be wider than they are tall).
  4. Click OK.
  5. Click Save the active file. to save your work.
