Specifying Page Margins

You can set the margins for a page, which determines the amount of space to the left, right, top, or bottom of the body content. For more information see Page Layouts and Editing Pages.

How to Specify Margins for a Page

  1. Open a page in a layout.
  2. Double-click on the page (without double-clicking on a frame).
  1. Select the General tab.
  2. (Optional) The current page in the layout is selected at the top in the Page field. You can use this field to select any of the other pages in the layout and your changes will be applied to that page. If you plan to make the same changes to all of the pages in the layout, select <all> from this drop-down. That way, you only need to specify your settings one time for all of the pages.
  3. Use the Page Margins section to enter settings.
    • Left Enter the length of the left margin for the page. First you need to select Length in the top drop-down list. You can then enter a value in the lower-left area and choose from several different units of measurement (points, pixels, centimeters, etc.) in the lower-right area. See Units of Measurement.
    • Right Enter the length of the right margin for the page. First you need to select Length in the top drop-down list. You can then enter a value in the lower-left area and choose from several different units of measurement (points, pixels, centimeters, etc.) in the lower-right area. See Units of Measurement.
    • Top Enter the length of the top margin for the page. This is the space from the top of the body content to the top edge of the page. First you need to select Length in the top drop-down list. You can then enter a value in the lower-left area and choose from several different units of measurement (points, pixels, centimeters, etc.) in the lower-right area. See Units of Measurement.
    • Bottom Enter the length of the bottom margin for the page. This is the space from the bottom of the body content to the bottom edge of the page. First you need to select Length in the top drop-down list. You can then enter a value in the lower-left area and choose from several different units of measurement (points, pixels, centimeters, etc.) in the lower-right area. See Units of Measurement.
  4. Click OK.
  5. Click Save the active file. to save your work.
