Welcome to the MadCap Help Viewer. This viewer is used to display online DotNet Help targets that are generated in MadCap Flare. The Help Viewer can also display movies that are created in MadCap Mimic.

About topic comments and ratings

Not only can you use MadCap Help Viewer to see the online documentation for a Flare project, but you can also enter comments and ratings for topics (if the author has enabled MadCap's Feedback service). For more information see the following:

About DotNet Help

DotNet Help is a Help output format developed by MadCap Software. It was designed to include the best attributes of Microsoft HTML Help and WebHelp, while filling the holes left behind by those formats.

Benefits of DotNet Help:

Supports .NET applications.
Has a customizable interface that is much more modern looking than the aging HTML Help. It will blend easily into a modern Vista environment.
Lets you select between multiple languages for the interface. You can select English, French, German, or Japanese. See Selecting a Language for the Help Viewer Interface.
Is not burdened by the security warnings and limitations that are often encountered with HTML Help and WebHelp.
Lets you include features (such as browse sequences and search) not available with HTML Help.
Lets you create embedded context-sensitive Help in a .NET application. This includes the ability to produce Dynamic Help.

Flare's online Help uses DotNet Help.
