Main Areas of the MadCap Help Viewer

The standalone MadCap Help Viewer interface consists of two major sections:

Left The left side of the Help Viewer interface is the default location for the different Help window panes that you include in your generated output (e.g., TOC, Search, Index).
Right The large section on the right side of the Help Viewer interface is the default location for displaying the Help topics as users select them from one of the window panes.

In addition, other features may open in window panes on the far right or at the bottom of the interface.

As mentioned, the two main areas of the standalone Help Viewer interface are the default locations for these elements. However, you have the flexibility in the Help Viewer to close or move elements around as you like, so it is not mandatory that every window remain permanently in its default location.

In addition to the main areas mentioned, the Help Viewer's interface also consists of menus and global toolbars.
