File List Window Pane

The File List window pane lets you view all of the content files in your project. You can limit the files that are displayed by using the file type filter (e.g., click the Filter drop-down and select Snippet Files).

If you want to see a comprehensive list of the files in the project that should be translated, you can select the "All Files" option from the drop-down list. This is the recommended selection for translation work.

When you want to translate a particular file, you can double-click it in the File List window pane to open it.

In addition, if you are creating a bundle or review package, you can hold down your SHIFT or CTRL key and select specific files to be included. See Preparing Translation Bundles and Sending Translated Content for Review.

Lets you add additional files to a translation project after the project has been created. You can add additional files to any project created from other individual files, such as individual Word documents or XML files. See Adding Files to Projects.

Lets you create a translation bundle. If you are working with a translator who is using a third-party tool—such as Trados or memoQ—you first need to "package" your Lingo project in order to separate the necessary files for the translator. You can then send the "bundle" (which is a ZIP file) to the translator. This ZIP file consists of the content files requiring translation. See Preparing Translation Bundles.

After the translator returns the completed ZIP file, you can use this button to merge its contents into your original Lingo project. See Merging Completed Bundles.

Lets you show or hide the small squares next to each folder and file, which are used to show colors representing condition tags that have been applied. Hiding condition tags can greatly speed the population of the window pane.

Click to show or hide folders where files are kept.

You can select the image file you want to replace, click this button, and find the new image file on your computer to replace it. If you select a file with a different name, the name will be changed when it is added to the project so that it matches the old file name.
